La Femme Fatale

I have a high regard for femmes fatales considering how much effort they invest into becoming one, and how much even more work they put into staying that way. The femme fatale is not a pretty bimbo with big breasts and a lot of nerve. The real ones are actually rather smart than beautiful, but they have the brains, the talent and the sex appeal to bring together all these advantages and use use them as a weapon.
A weapon to seduce men or audiences or ...the world...Famme fatales can easily conquer showbiz, media or politics (Evita Peron or Cleopatra), or even, to successfully mix them all (Marilyn Monroe). In my attempt to surprise the perfect femme fatale attitude, I've discovered these images, that are called cinemagraphs (a combination between still photos and minor animation). The technique was named and promoted by Kevin Burg and Jamie Berg. I've discovered that I am in love with cinemagraphs. I find them surprising and intriguing to watch.

Those are really fun to watch! Anne Rice's Pandora is a great femme fatale in literature.

Those moving photos are very cool. Wouldn't it be fun to be able to do that with a few old photos?

Hello Petronela:
The cinemagraphs are as beguiling as the femmes fatales they portray. One is completely mesmerised by them. Precisely the effect, we suppose that any self respecting femme fatale would wish to create!

You're right about that - femme fatales are rarely the most beautiful or even the prettiest but they definitely fall into the smartest category

I agree that femme fatales are not the most beautiful but they have something intriguing about them that draws people to them :)

I did not know the name given to this type of motion picture.
I also like the other and rarely find. It gives a charm and lightness to what we are writing.

In time, I really enjoy the sensuality.

Kisses

I was drawn to your post when I saw the first woman's leg moving. I thought very cool. But I just have to say, where is the cellulite, come on, she can't be without an dimples. LOL!!! I do love the photos and the whole idea of a femme fatales is very alluring!!! I always love reading what brings up interest for you.
Hugs!!!

A femme fatale...hmmm...I've always wondered what it would be like to try and write a genuine one. I'll readily admit that writing the much-sought after "strong female character" is still something I've yet to nail (at least in my mind), but maybe following a certain archetype can lend a hand.

So -- as always -- thanks for posting this. You've given me a new perspective, and I could stand to do a little investigation on my end. And the photos are certainly interesting...if only because they remind me of the fact that I'll never have flowing locks that twist in the wind.

Cinemagraphs are new to me - but fascinating. That said, I thought that the woman in black - third image down, could do with a good feed. Or two. Collar bones are not something I find sensual.
Brilliant post. Mega thanks.

Clever and I kept looking much too long. :)

What beautiful images. The animation is so subtle you almost dont notice the hair moving.
A intelligent woman is always going to be in charge in any seduction situation.

Those are very nice animation. I must confess I am a little fearful when looking at these animated pictures after having received one too many pranks where *ghosts* appear suddenly as I am admiring the pictures.

They really are intriguing to watch. I like pretending that I am or can be a la femme fatale. When I'm alone prancing in front of my mirror. :-) I really believe they are born with such a trait, like natural sexiness, and it's something that when honed can be perfected and natural.

My daughter's best friend had a mother who'd been through 7 husbands, and was reeling in the 8th. Made me think a lot about sexuality, because this woman was NOT attractive, and she was clever, but not smart. Very primal. But she made men feel noticed and important. Maybe the key?

I love these pictures, I never heard of them, thanks for sharing it with us. I think the world would be so boring without our femmes fatales!

Janet :)

Aw, finally a post that describes me, lol. I'm particularly fond of the one in the dark dress, with smokey eye makeup. Time to dress and find some troubles to solve.
Kisses dear!

I love your femme fatale and I love the attitude, as well. Strong women are women I respect the most. There are many ways they can show their strength, too.

I agree with what you had to say about them in this piece, too. And that's friggin' cool the way their hair moves. Mystical, in a way.
