I met a demon

"I met a demon" is the name of my new short story based on actual events. I have been planning to write it for a very long time, but, to be honest, I was afraid. Somehow I feared it might...influence me on some level. The story is based on a true event happened in 1976 to my boyfriend and, when he first shared it to me, about 12 years ago, I was profoundly disturbed for a very long time.
The main idea is that he witnessed the apparition of a very dark, unearhtly ...being and he recollects it with such vivid details and dreadful particularities that it really puts you in the position to make some drastic reconsiderations about...everything. Because his mental structure is a very healthy one, he managed to sanely survive the event and even more, to draw a positive conclusive, that I am very crazy about...That is ...if there are such things as demons, there are also angels. And that helped him move on and even more, it helped him evolve spiritually in a very unexpected way.
It took me a week to write it, trying to faithfully follow the real flow of events and I am now, looking for a publisher :). Wish me luck!

Wow, that sounds fascinating, but equally something I never want to hear! If I ever get to read it, I'll pretend it's fiction :-)

Good luck! Though I doubt you'll need it. Talent will probably snag you a publisher. :))

And I had a dream like that once. Horrible, horrible nightmare that was so...real. I had to ask my dead grandparents for help in the dream, and they came and protected me. Very vivid memory of that. Still gives me shivers.

Hello Petronela:
It is so strange how, given the many millions of dreams we must all dream, that we barely remember any. And, exceedingly rarely do the dreams become very real indeed. That does make them all the more impressionable when they do happen.

What an intriguing idea to capture that dream and turn it into a work of fiction. You can probably write about it so vividly as a result.May you have success with your endeavours!

I certainly wish you best of luck! I am very fascinated by stories of this kind. Although I find them very scary... there is so much that we can see but it is there.

Jane this was not a dream, this really happened to my boyfriend many years ago.

Sounds like the perfect makings for a short story. Best of luck getting it published!

"If there are such things as demons, there are also angels."

Huh. I never thought of it that way. But then again, I suppose it makes sense; no darkness without light, no yin without yang, and so on.

Color me intrigued...and a deep shade of green for good measure.

Indeed you can't believe in evil demons etc without accepting the flip side of that coin.

Fascinating! And amazing how your story is based on actual real events. I love how your boyfriend took something positive from his scary experience!

That's extremely frightening- what happeed to you boyfriend. I hope, when you get his story properly translated on paper, that it does get published.

Personally, I believe in spirits, demons and angels. Our family lived in a house that was haunted by bothersome ghosts for decades. Lots of chairs moving around, the TV being turned on and off, suddenly, without reason, your name being called, something flashing by your bedroom door.

So yes. I'm a believer in all of that.

Btw, I just wrote my last blog post for my blog, yesterday. It's really a message for all of my friends, new and old. Take care, Petronela. Also: I always loved your blog, your honesty and your writing style and it was great getting to know you! See you on that other social network. :) site.
